I just want to put a LS3 in my 350z..then put its Vq35de into a 240z

Take straight four from Spit and put in a Honda motorcycle for better exhaust note and low revs.
Take Honda motorcycle engine and put in Singer Chamois
Take Singer Chamois's slant four and install in tractor, allowing you to fit dual carb setup under hood
Take tractor engine and swap for Rover V8.

You're doing it the wrong way. You should get yourself a 5.0L TVR-tuned V8 (Griffith 500 HC/Blackpool 340 spec) and fit it in a specially modified SD1 with a reinforced chassis and Vitesse appearence.

Me possibly :) mucking about with old cars is what I do

That's plenty good enough :)
All you need is something for the L24 to go into...

OI MATE... You forgot the NSFW tag on this..

That's the ticket!
I was thinking I could buy a Rangey to get the 3.9l engine from, and then find a way to swap the Spit I4 into something and eventually get a diesel to put back into the Range.

I've got more...

Good point. I definitely want an SD1 that has 'TVR' written under the bonnet.
You shouldn't need to beef up the chassis though. They raced the SD1 in Group A touring cars with mostly stock components so you can put a decent amount of power through them.

Ah, the TWR Vitesses...I forgot about this can of awesomeness for so much time...

Well, taking my chain, you might swap a gas tractor six for a Kubota four, then kit the kubota four with a turbo and thence into the Rangie..

yeahh, that's rattling my brain now, lol

I know you can bore and stroke them out to 3.0l. There must be something you can do with that.

Lol. can't believe you already posted this before I got here. I've thought about this a lot (and i also own a 350Z)
My buddy has a 2006 GTO. He gets an LS9 out of a ZR1 corvette.
The LS2 from his GTO goes into my 350Z.
The VQ35 from the Z goes into a 240SX
The KA24 from the 240SX goes into a Datsun 510
Then you either trash the 510 engine or put it in the Corvette.

VQ35 into a Datsun.
Just like the Aardvark
![]() 01/09/2014 at 18:13 |

Step 1: Buy Chevy Silverado SS 454
Step 2: Buy LS9 crate engine
Step 3: Swap LS9 in place of Chevy F/I 454
Step 4: Rebuild 454 and make it pump out well over 500hp
Step 5: Swap 454 into the rear of a base 930 Carrera
Step 6: Rebuild flat-6 from Carrera
Step 7: Swap flat-6 into a Super Beetle

i was also considering vq35de in a 510 instead of a 240...not sure witch one weighs less, lol

Just grab the last engine you have, make a tube frame buggy, and shove it all together.. rock/dirt hooner :)

I think there's a joke in here somewhere but I dont get it D: elaborate?

Ohhh, I've scene that one..Didn't know Speedhunters had a article on it :O Thanks for sharing!! Also, there's a guy in Cali I believe with a Rb26 swapped older Z, and last I saw/heard he was making a twin turbo vq35 one..with full carbon fiber body..
![]() 01/09/2014 at 20:38 |

I've always wanted an ITB VQ35 in something small and light like the 260Z. An RB26 would be cool as well, but something about N/A sixxers in a Datsun just seems perfect.
A full carbon body would not be a task I'd like to take on. If its a tube chassis with a shell, like the Aardvark then it might not be so bad.
But an entire body that actually needs structure, no thanks lol. Carbon fiber is strong, but it needs to be layered in just the right spots or it can still be fragile. I've had a hard time making some hoods and other miscellaneous body parts before and it's an engineers game for sure.
![]() 01/09/2014 at 20:51 |

Probably is a tube frame, not sure, if I was made of money my Z would already be a tube frame and carbon car.. lol, but nope, only carbon fiber I have is some dash pieces and glove box door, a few engine shroud pieces and a layer of firewall in my 65' beetle, lol

Ecoboost TT 3.5 into B8 S4 = "B5 S4ord"
SC 3.0 from S4 into S3 = "RS3.0"
Turbo 4 from S3 into Miata = real car
Miata 4 into Ford Flex (yep that's the donor) to some hipster for a markup that would cover the other swaps
